The appointments come at a crucial time for Archery Australia as it looks to expand its reach and impact in the sporting community.

Archery Australia has announced the appointment of Peter Bromley as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), alongside the promotion of Mick Maclennan to Chief Operating Officer (COO). This leadership change is seen as a strategic move to enhance the organization’s direction and growth in the sport of archery.

Peter Bromley comes to Archery Australia with a wealth of experience in sports management. He previously served as the CEO of Athletics Australia, where he led the organization to its best Olympic results in over 60 years. His background in managing technical disciplines and promoting high performance positions him well to navigate Archery Australia through its next phase of development.

Mick Maclennan, who has been with Archery Australia for some time, has transitioned from his role as interim CEO to COO. During his interim tenure, Maclennan was instrumental in maintaining stability within the organization and advancing key initiatives, showcasing his dedication to the sport and its stakeholders. His experience as the Men’s National Operations Manager at Water Polo Australia and his background in youth program management at Cricket NSW further solidify his capability in his new role.

The Board of Archery Australia expressed gratitude for Maclennan’s contributions during his interim leadership and is optimistic about the future under the combined leadership of Bromley and Maclennan. “We believe that Peter’s expertise, paired with Mick’s operational insight, will greatly enhance our organization’s capacity to achieve its goals,” stated a Board representative.

Under Bromley’s leadership, Archery Australia aims to focus on several key areas, including enhancing talent pathways, improving competitive performance, and increasing grassroots participation. The organization seeks to build a robust framework that supports the development of athletes from the grassroots level up to elite competition.

Bromley expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am excited to join Archery Australia and look forward to working with the team to create a strong future for the sport in Australia. Together, we will strive to make archery more accessible and engaging for everyone.”

The appointments come at a crucial time for Archery Australia as it looks to expand its reach and impact in the sporting community. By focusing on inclusivity and promoting diverse participation, the organization aims to cultivate a supportive environment for all archers, regardless of their background.

As Archery Australia moves forward, the leadership team under Bromley and Maclennan is poised to guide the organization through its strategic initiatives, ensuring a brighter future for the sport in Australia. The Board remains committed to fostering growth and stability while recognizing the importance of strong leadership in achieving these objectives.

With these leadership changes, Archery Australia is looking ahead with optimism, ready to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in the evolving landscape of Australian sports. The organization is eager to engage with its community, inspire new participants, and achieve success on both national and international stages.
