Aside from burnout, employers also need to be concerned about resignations and rising cases of imposter syndrome among remote workers.

According to the latest ELMO report, 46% of Australian employees have admitted that they are feeling burnt out, as employees have started to feel less secure about the economy.

As per the report, the number of employees suffering from burnout during the first quarter of 2022 has increased by 10% than the 34% reported in the same quarter last year. The reasons are attributed to an increase in workload with 32% feeling overwhelmed about their responsibilities.

The high burnout rates come as fewer Australians believe that the economy is "secure". The rising burnout rates have led to people experiencing ‘imposter syndrome’ as they are able to process the workload they have committed too.

Only 15% of Australian workers believe that the economy is still secure, down from the 20% in the fourth quarter of 2021, which is a massive concern as the ANZ region still harbours many remote workers amid the discussion over opening their offices.

The insecurity about the declining economy is based on the ongoing Russian - Ukraine conflict, with 78% citing this as the reason for decline in economic security.
