In her first public statement about her upcoming role, Twitter's newly-appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino expressed her enthusiasm for helping transform the social media platform, stating that she has always been inspired by Elon Musk.

Following Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter in October 2022, the social media platform underwent significant internal and external changes. Musk terminated nearly 80% of the company's employees and reduced several employee perks to decrease expenses.

Additionally, Twitter users who had previously earned the coveted verification badge lost their blue ticks when Musk introduced Twitter Blue. Musk's management style was criticised by both employees and Twitter users.

Therefore, when the entrepreneur announced the upcoming appointment of a new CEO for Twitter, there was a lot of anticipation to learn who would take on the position.

Linda Yaccarino is set to take over from Elon Musk in a few weeks, following the announcement made on Friday. Although she had been silent on the matter until now, Yaccarino has finally spoken about her forthcoming position, expressing that she has always been inspired by Elon Musk.

After being welcomed to her new role in a tweet by Elon Musk, Linda Yaccarino responded by stating, "I’ve long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future. I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!"

In a separate tweet, Yaccarino acknowledged that she is not as active as Musk on the platform but stated her dedication to creating Musk's Twitter 2.0.
