Could your DEI work be the next big thing celebrated in Australian tech?

As the TechDiversity Awards mark their 10th anniversary, nominations are open for the 2025 edition. The awards celebrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within Australia's technology sector.

This milestone event not only honours past achievements but also sets the stage for future advancements.

The 2025 TechDiversity Awards aim to recognise and amplify the efforts of individuals, teams, and organisations that have made significant strides in fostering inclusive practices across the tech industry. With nominations open until 9 May, the awards invite entries across five categories:

  • Government
  • Business
  • Education
  • Campaign of the Year
  • Tech for Good

This year’s theme, Framing DE+I Futures, emphasises the collaborative effort required to build a more inclusive tech workforce. It acknowledges that DEI progress is not automatic but is achieved through deliberate actions by leaders and changemakers committed to driving innovation and dismantling systemic barriers.

The judging panel comprises senior executives, government leaders, DEI experts, and industry influencers, ensuring that each nomination is evaluated with a comprehensive understanding of its impact. Finalists and winners will be featured in a special 10th-anniversary Winners’ Booklet, solidifying their contributions in Australia’s DEI history.

The culmination of the awards will be celebrated at the TechDiversity Awards Gala on 14 August at the Sofitel On Collins in Melbourne.

This event serves not only as a recognition ceremony but also as a platform for sharing insights and inspiring continued efforts towards inclusivity in tech.

Reflecting on the 2024 awards, the event highlighted the role of DEI as a catalyst for overcoming economic challenges, showcasing how inclusive practices contribute to innovation and productivity. Notable winners included Mantel Group’s Women & Gender Minority Traineeship Program and Services Australia’s Aurora Neurodiversity Program, exemplifying the transformative power of DEI initiatives.

As the TechDiversity Awards enter their second decade, they continue to serve as a beacon for DEI excellence, encouraging the tech industry to embrace diversity as a driver for growth and resilience.

Organisations and individuals are encouraged to submit their nominations and be part of shaping a more inclusive future in technology.

For more information and to submit nominations, visit the official TechDiversity Awards nomination page.
