Wipro has appointed Christopher Smith as the managing director for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

An engineering graduate from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), Smith comes with more than two decades of experience in IT and telecommunications.

In his new role, Smith will be responsible for helping the company’s clients, people, and communities in ANZ realise their ambitions in an inclusive and purpose-driven way.

Smith, who for the most part worked in the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia, has joined Wipro from Telstra. He was the group owner of Telstra Purple, the largest Australian-owned technology services company.
