Sojung Lee joins the remote connectivity provider from SolarWinds. Based in Singapore, she is expected to drive TeamViewer's growth strategy in its APAC markets.

Remote connectivity software provider TeamViewer has announced the appointment of Sojung Lee as its new President for the Asia-Pacific region with immediate effect. The position is a new one, with oversight of all TeamViewer's APAC markets including China, Japan, India, Australia, and New Zealand, and it is part of the company's global senior leadership team.

Lee will be based in Singapore, where she is is expected to build a regional sales hub for TeamViewer as part of the company's plan to expand further into the APAC region. TeamViewer currently has strong local presences in Japan, China, India and Australia.

Lee joins TeamViewer from SolarWinds, where she held the position of Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan Sales. Prior to SolarWinds, she was with IBM Asia Pacific. She has considerable experience across North Asia, including China and Korea.

TeamViewer's CEO Oliver Steil said: "We are very excited to welcome Sojung Lee onboard. With her strong track record of generating extraordinary business growth, her proven leadership skills, and her extensive know-how of the market requirements in the region, she will play an integral role in bringing our new setup for APAC to life. Her excellent capabilities in scaling up with business partners will further contribute to drive growth and business performance in the region.”

Germany-headquartered TeamViewer was among the tech firms that benefited from the rush to work from home in 2020. It saw huge growth in the demand for its remote connectivity software last year, but this demand did not sustain into 2021. In October this year, the company reported that its growth was lower than expected primarily because large enterprise deals did not yield as much revenue as originally projected.
