Simone Dossetor is to be appointed Chief Executive Officer at Insurtech Australia, following the departure of veteran and current CEO Rita Yates.

Beginning October 01, 2021, Insurtech Australia will be inviting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) into the organisation. Simone Dossetor, currently a member of the Board of Directors at IA, will take on the role to ensure a smooth transition. She aims to seek new opportunities through her new role and foster a new Insurtech ecosystem for Australia, through change, passion and diversification. Along with the accumulated experience she has obtained, she will be open to the challenges that come with this new appointment. Insurtech Australia is an organisation that cultivates start-ups in the insurance sector.

Dossetor has accumulated much experience in her 20-year career in the insurance industry. Including her role as non-executive Director for the IA board since February 2020. Additionally, Dossetor previously upheld roles with Calliden Group, Deloitte, and Trowbridge Group, which is now a part of Finity. As of August 2018, her role at the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) began as Senior Associate. Prior to this, she was the COO at Munich Re Group in Australia where she handled strategic representation and business supply matters. Dossetor is experienced across a wide range of roles, specialising in the General Insurance Industry and many more.

Insurtech Australia Chair Eoghan Trehy also commented on his coworker’s transition into her new role as CEO. Trehy said: “For the last few months, with the diligent help of Rita and an external partner, Blake Oliver, the board conducted a robust executive search process. We are delighted to welcome Simone to the CEO role, and we look forward to working closely with her to continue to grow a world-leading insurance innovation ecosystem in Australia.”
