AWS appoints Rianne Van Veldhuizen as new Managing Director for Australia and NZ
Cloud computing platform and APIs provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the appointment of Rianne Van Veldhuizen, as its new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. In the new role, Van Veldhuizen will be heading AWS’s local commercial sales organisation. She had joined the company as its Asia Pacific and Japan head of small-to-medium-sized businesses in January. Van Veldhuizen replaced Adam Beavis, who had held the position for more than a year and a half. He has been promoted as AWS’s Asia Pacific and Japan managing director of ISV and digital-native businesses.
Van Veldhuizen will continue to work with Iain Rouse, who has been appointed the Director of the public sector for AWS of Australia & NZ in February 2019. Prior to this, Van Veldhuizen worked at IBM for 15 years. She had been the Asia Pacific Chief Digital Officer and Vice President of digital sales and commercial in the company.
AWS is making a number of shuffles within the global team and Van Veldhuizen’s appointment is one of them.
The other one is Ashish Dhawan’s appointment to lead worldwide partner sales for enterprise workloads. He will relocate from Singapore to the US for this position. Before the promotion, he was the managing director of enterprise, mid-market and global accounts for South Asia. He was succeeded by Vaishali Kasturae who took his former position. Keith Groom, former global partner leader of Microsoft workloads on AWS, will be the head of partner strategy and report to Dhawan. Andy Jassy, AWS CEO will take over Jeff Bezos as Amazon boss, and Adam Selipsky, Tableau CEO will be stepping in as Jassy’s replacement.
