Ricoh Australia appoints Tina Economou as Managing Director, effective October 1

Ricoh Australia has appointed Tina Economou as its new Managing Director, effective 1 October 2026. According to media reports, Economou succeeds Yasu Takahashi, who will relocate to Tokyo after being appointed Deputy Head of Global Sales for Ricoh Graphic Communications.

The leadership transition comes as Ricoh Australia sharpens its focus on helping organisations manage increasingly complex technology environments while driving sustainable growth.

Driving growth

Economou, who joined Ricoh Australia in 2015, brings more than a decade of leadership experience across sales, branch operations, government and national leadership.

During her tenure, she has held key roles including National Sales Manager, Branch Manager for Victoria and Sales Manager for Government in Western Australia.

Most recently, as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, she led Ricoh Australia's customer-facing functions and played a central role in shaping the company's commercial strategy. 

Her appointment reflects her deep understanding of the business, its customers and operations, as well as her focus on sustainable growth, employee engagement and customer value.

As Managing Director, Economou will lead Ricoh Australia's next phase of growth, overseeing the company's continued evolution beyond its traditional print heritage into workplace technology and managed services.

Leadership transition

"Yasu joined Ricoh Australia at a difficult time and has helped build a strong foundation for the business. I would like to thank him for his leadership and contribution over the past five years," said Kei Uesugi, Regional Director, Ricoh Asia Pacific.

"Tina has taken on increasing responsibility since joining Ricoh Australia in 2015 and has earned the respect of colleagues through her leadership, commitment and hard work,” 

“She brings a deep understanding of Australian business, its customers and its people, and I have every confidence she will continue to build on the progress already made. I also look forward to the perspective and experience she will bring to our regional senior leadership team,” Uesugi noted.

Takahashi commented, "Tina's appointment as Managing Director marks an exciting new chapter for Ricoh Australia.”

Her predecessor, Takahashi, has led Ricoh Australia since April 2021, helping strengthen the company's commercial foundations, deepen strategic customer relationships and expand its market position during a period of business transformation.
