PwC Australia reappoints Kevin Burrowes as CEO until 2028

PwC Australia partners reappoint Kevin Burrowes as CEO until 2028, as the firm continues its governance reforms and works to rebuild trust and confidence.
PwC Australia partners have voted to reappoint Kevin Burrowes as Chief Executive Officer for a second and final term, extending his tenure until 30 June 2028.
The appointment follows a formal CEO succession process led by PwC Australia's Independent Chair. The process included nomination, assessment and due diligence stages introduced as part of the firm's Commitments to Change.
The ballot was independently administered, with a majority of partners voting in favour of Burrowes' reappointment.
Burrowes outlines focus for next two years
Burrowes thanked the Governance Board and PwC partners for their support following the vote.
“I am incredibly grateful to have the partnership’s mandate to continue leading this firm. Our transformation across the past three years has positioned us well, and we are incredibly proud of the changes we’ve made and continue to embed."
Burrowes said rebuilding trust would remain a key priority as the firm enters the next phase of its transformation.
“We have strong momentum and while I am optimistic, this is a pivotal moment for our firm, where trust across our industry has been impacted and we must work hard to rebuild confidence. Across the next two years, I look forward to working with the partnership on our ambitious agenda, while leaning into industry reform,” he said.
PwC seeks continuity through governance reforms
“The firm has made significant progress across the past three years in embedding cultural change and governance reforms. At the same time, the firm has embraced the opportunity to transform how it operates and delivers for clients; with deep industry expertise and the responsible use of AI at the forefront."
Green said, “On behalf of the Governance Board, I congratulate Kevin on his reappointment and thank partners for their engagement throughout the process,” Mr Green said.
The appointment would provide stability as the firm continues its governance and cultural reforms.
