Nexia Sydney appoints Paul Cottingham as chief strategy and growth officer

Nexia Sydney has appointed Paul Cottingham as chief strategy and growth officer, effective 17 August 2026, according to the company’s official announcement.
Cottingham brings more than 25 years of professional services experience across London and New Zealand, with senior leadership roles at KPMG and PwC. He most recently served as chief operating officer at Meredith Connell, New Zealand’s largest litigation firm.
New role to support growth
The newly created position will focus on strengthening Nexia Sydney’s strategic direction as the firm looks to accelerate growth and continue its transformation.
Nexia Sydney chief executive Amber Matthews said Cottingham’s experience and commercial approach would strengthen the firm’s leadership.
“Paul’s experience, commercial mindset and deep understanding of the professional services sector will be a tremendous asset to Nexia Sydney. Combined with his collaborative leadership style and strong focus on growth, he is well positioned to help drive the firm’s continued transformation and success,” said Matthews.
Cottingham brings professional services experience
Cottingham said he was looking forward to joining Nexia Sydney as the firm enters its next stage of growth.

Cottingham’s career spans more than two decades across professional services, including senior roles with global accounting and advisory firms.
His experience includes strategy, operations, commercial leadership and organisational growth, alongside his most recent role at Meredith Connell.
