HealthEx appoints Caitlin Lally as Chief People Officer to lead people strategy

HealthEx Group has appointed Lally as its new Chief People Officer, expanding her remit as the healthcare group continues to strengthen its people strategy across its portfolio of businesses.

Lally joined HealthEx in May 2023 as Human Resources Manager and became part of the organisation’s senior leadership team. During her tenure, she has helped develop the group’s people practices, with a particular focus on employee engagement and retention.

In her new role, Lally will take on a broader leadership mandate, supporting HealthEx’s clinicians and teams across its businesses.

Brings extensive workforce leadership experience

Before joining HealthEx, Lally spent more than five years at Ausenco, where she held senior people leadership roles including Senior Business Partner, People & Performance and Manager, People & Performance, Western Australia.

Her experience at Ausenco strengthened her expertise in strategic people partnering and workforce leadership within a complex operating environment.

Earlier in her career, Lally worked at Technip as Senior Project HR Advisor, Ichthys between 2015 and 2018. Based primarily in Perth, she supported personnel involved in the INPEX Ichthys offshore commissioning scope across onshore and offshore operations, including a period working in Geoje, South Korea.

Her responsibilities spanned employee relations, international mobility, workforce mobilisation and demobilisation, recruitment, project HR documentation, training coordination and workforce reporting across Australia, South Korea and Singapore.

Career spans recruitment, HR and workforce strategy

Lally previously served as HR Manager at Auzcorp from 2012 to 2014, having initially joined the organisation in an HR and recruitment coordination role. She later progressed into a leadership position overseeing the group’s Human Resources function.

Her remit included recruitment and retention, learning and development, remuneration and benefits, employee and industrial relations, workforce planning, restructuring and FIFO workforce mobilisation.

She began her career with Brooklyn Group, working in recruitment consulting and executive search. Her early experience covered temporary and contract recruitment across healthcare, property, engineering, oil and gas and mining, before she moved into executive search, specialising in candidate sourcing and evaluation.

Lally holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources Management from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is an accredited user of the Hogan psychometric suite.

HealthEx leadership highlights broader people remit

HealthEx Group CEO Robert Pierce described Lally as a key member of the senior leadership team, highlighting her contribution beyond the traditional HR remit.

Pierce also emphasised her role in supporting employees to perform at their best while helping the group deliver outcomes for its stakeholders.

The appointment comes as people leadership continues to take on a broader strategic role in healthcare, where employee engagement, retention and workforce capability remain central to organisational performance.
