Colorcon appoints Shirley Qi as Managing Director - NESEA

Qi brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across the healthcare and consulting sectors, and recently served Evonik in key roles overseeing Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand regions.

Colorcon, a global leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing solutions, has appointed Shirley Qi as Managing Director – Northeast and Southeast Asia (NESEA), effective January 2026. 

Qi announced her new role on LinkedIn, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Managing Director NESEA at Colorcon.” 

Welcoming her to the role, Willem Hoogwater, Managing Director, Northeast & Southeast Asia, said, “Welcome Shirley! Wishing you every success as you step into this role.” Karen Lauxmann, Managing Director, EMEA, also extended her congratulations, welcoming Qi to Colorcon’s global leadership team.

She brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across the healthcare and consulting sectors. 

Prior to joining Colorcon, Qi spent over 13 years at Evonik, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President of Tailor-Made Projects and President for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, alongside her role as Head of Nutrition & Care, Asia Pacific. She played a key role in driving people-centric leadership, sustainability, and business growth across APAC region. 

Delivering impact across the supply chain while championing Evonik’s purpose of sustainable and responsible innovation. She also led Evonik’s engagement with the Together for Sustainability initiative in Asia, strengthening transparency and sustainability across regional supply networks.

Her earlier career includes leadership roles at AHK Singapore, Together for Sustainability (TfS), and Baker Tilly Germany, giving her a strong blend of regional, operational, and strategic expertise. 

On the academic front, Qi holds an MBA from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a Diploma in Law from Tongji University, China.
