AutoSense appoints Steve Fielding as Chief Revenue Officer for Australia and New Zealand

Fielding will lead the company’s commercial and growth strategy across A/NZ, focusing on customer success, partnerships and market development.
AutoSense, a fleet safety provider, has appointed Steve Fielding as Chief Revenue Officer as the company accelerates growth across Australia and New Zealand.
Fielding will lead the company’s commercial and growth strategy across A/NZ, focusing on customer success, partnerships and market development.
He brings more than 20 years of experience across transport operations, fleet technology, SaaS and commercial leadership.
Former EROAD executive joins AutoSense
Fielding joins AutoSense from New Zealand logistics company Netlogix, where he served as Executive General Manager. He oversaw a $110 million revenue business covering transport operations, customer service and commercial performance.
Before Netlogix, Fielding spent almost five years as Head of Growth and Retention for ANZ at transport technology company EROAD. He led sales and customer growth across the transport, fleet, construction and government sectors.
During his time at EROAD, he helped grow the business to more than 6,000 customer organisations.
AutoSense focuses on fleet safety and technology
Fielding said AutoSense’s work across fleet technology, safety and risk management presents an opportunity to deliver greater value to transport operators.
“I’m most looking forward to the opportunity to help scale a business that already has a strong reputation, great people, and genuinely differentiated capability.
AutoSense sits at an interesting intersection of technology, fleet safety, and risk management, and I think there is a significant opportunity to bring those elements together in a way that creates measurable value for customers.”
AutoSense CEO Charles Dawson said Fielding’s experience in transport and technology would support the company’s growth plans.
“Steve understands our customers’ world from both sides – the operational realities of running fleets and the opportunity technology and data provide to reduce risk, improve driver outcomes and make better decisions,” Dawson said.
“As we set our sights on ambitious growth in Australia, Steve’s experience scaling technology businesses, building strong customer relationships and leading transport operations will be invaluable.”
Focus on fleet safety and customer growth
AutoSense currently supports 789 fleets across Australia and New Zealand, with 7,000 drivers using Guardian by Seeing Machines and Vision cameras.
The company said its technology has also helped improve safety for major transport operators. Mainfreight Australia recorded a more than 94% reduction in fatigue events per 10,000 kilometres driven over seven years while working with AutoSense.
Fielding said transport operators are facing rising costs, tighter margins, driver shortages and growing safety expectations.
“Operators are dealing with rising costs, tighter margins, driver shortages and growing expectations around safety. At the same time, they are surrounded by more technology and data than ever before,” Fielding said.
“The real opportunity is turning that technology and data into practical action that improves safety, productivity and ultimately the economics of running a fleet.”
Fielding’s initial priorities will include identifying growth opportunities, strengthening AutoSense’s go-to-market strategy and improving the customer experience across Australia and New Zealand.
