Ashiss Kumar Dash named Infosys CEO designate, to take charge in April 2027

Infosys has appointed company veteran Ashiss Kumar Dash as its CEO-designate, setting the stage for a planned leadership transition as the IT services major sharpens its focus on AI-led growth.

According to media reports, the board approved Dash's appointment on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. He will serve as CEO-designate until 31 March 2027 and take over as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director on 1 April 2027, subject to statutory approvals.

Dash will succeed Salil Parekh, who will step down after completing his second five-year term. Parekh will remain CEO until 31 March 2027 to ensure a smooth handover.

A long-serving Infosys leader

Dash is currently Executive Vice President and Global Head of Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy and Enterprise Sustainability. During nearly three decades at Infosys, he has held leadership roles across client businesses, delivery and global operations.

An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, he has also completed Stanford University's Global Leadership Program. 

He contributes to global discussions on energy transition through the World Economic Forum and the UN Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance, and represented Infosys at the B20 Summit 2023.

AI to drive the next phase of growth

The leadership transition comes as Infosys navigates weaker discretionary technology spending while supporting clients' AI transformation.

Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said Dash was well placed to lead the company through the industry's next phase.

"The Board is delighted to appoint Dash as CEO-designate. Our industry is entering a period of considerable change. The Board was clear that our next CEO needed to combine the ability to drive bold transformation with the judgment to preserve the values and customer trust that have always distinguished Infosys,” he said. 

“It gives me great pleasure that we have an internal leader as our next CEO," he further said.

Parekh, who joined Infosys in 2018, leaves after strengthening the company's digital capabilities, expanding strategic client relationships and positioning it for enterprise AI adoption.
