Akamai appoints Louis Tague to lead Australia and New Zealand cybersecurity and cloud business

Akamai has appointed Louis Tague as Regional Vice President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, strengthening its leadership as demand grows for cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI and digital transformation.

Tague will lead Akamai’s cybersecurity and cloud business across A/NZ and report to Sean Li, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific (APAC).

He will focus on driving growth, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and helping organisations maximise Akamai’s security, AI and cloud capabilities.

Focus on AI, cloud and cyber resilience

Tague joins as businesses across Australia and New Zealand face evolving cybersecurity risks while accelerating AI and cloud adoption.

He will help customers integrate security, AI and cloud technologies to meet changing technology needs and strengthen digital resilience.

Former CrowdStrike executive joins Akamai

Tague brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology sales and leadership experience across Australia and New Zealand. He has held senior roles at Google Cloud Security, Mandiant/FireEye and Veritas.

He was most recently Vice President and Managing Director for A/NZ at CrowdStrike, where he served until November 2025 before taking a career break.

His cybersecurity, cloud and enterprise technology experience comes as Akamai expands its security, AI and cloud capabilities across A/NZ.

Akamai targets A/NZ growth

Li said local leadership would help Akamai strengthen customer relationships and capture opportunities across Australia and New Zealand, one of its more established APAC markets.

“The region is an important market for Akamai, and our customers need a leader who understands both the local environment and the pressures they face,” he added.

“Louis knows this market well and has built strong teams and grown enterprise technology businesses in both markets. I am confident he will build on the foundation already in place and bring our teams, customers and partners even closer together.”

Tague’s appointment comes as organisations across Australia and New Zealand balance AI adoption, cloud transformation and rising cybersecurity threats, increasing the focus on cyber resilience and secure digital infrastructure.
