Digital respiratory care company Adherium has announced that Chief Executive Officer Dawn Bitz has stepped down for personal reasons after 12 months in the role. Chief Commercial Officer John Perry has been appointed interim CEO with immediate effect, according to media reports.

The leadership transition follows a year of commercial progress for the company. Including the expansion of its Remote Patient Monitoring channel and growth in recurring revenues from its Hailie smart inhaler platform.

Board thanks outgoing CEO

Adherium Non-Executive Chair George Baran said, "On behalf of the board, I would like to sincerely thank Dawn for her leadership and commitment during an important period for Adherium.”

The company said Bitz helped establish its Remote Patient Monitoring business, expand recurring Hailie revenues and strengthen Adherium's position in the growing Value Based Care market before deciding to step down.

Experienced healthcare executive takes interim role

Perry brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, commercialisation and healthcare technology.

Adherium said his understanding of the company's operations, customers and strategic priorities would ensure leadership continuity as it pursues its growth plans.

His immediate priorities include executing the company's commercial strategy and accelerating adoption of the Hailie platform across key markets.

Focus remains on digital respiratory care

Adherium develops digital health technologies for respiratory disease management, including its FDA-cleared Hailie Smartinhaler platform for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The company operates across New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia and other international markets.

The leadership change comes as the firm continues to expand its connected respiratory care, Remote Patient Monitoring and Value Based Care initiatives.
