His experience includes being a board director for the Energy Policy Institute of Australia, Group Manager and Stakeholder Engagement of TransGrid, Senior and Public Affairs Officer of Uniting, Government Ministerial Adviser, and more.

The Electric Vehicle Council is Australia’s national body for the electric vehicle industry, The organisation produces research work and engagement programs to raise the awareness of people about this innovative mode of transportation.

Even with all the favourable studies and research papers available, many Australians are on the side of the sceptics and naysayers when it comes to the topic of electric vehicles. But Behyad, who is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, isn’t one of them.

In a column published on the Daily Telegraph, Behyad argued that Australia has all the elements needed to push through with making electric vehicles the new normal of transportation. But it needs more push from the business and political leaders.

“Uniquely, all 10 of the metals used to make batteries are right here. We have stable politics, some of the world’s best skilled workers and great educational credentials to train more,” the charismatic business leader wrote.

Despite this optimism, Behyad knows that there’s a lot of work to be done, comparing efforts to attracting the electric vehicle industry to that of attracting the Olympic games. Leaders need to hustle hard, he stressed, just to be in the race.
