Australia Post is hiring 3,500 seasonal workers ahead of the Christmas parcel rush, with roles available across metropolitan and regional areas.
The seasonal recruitment drive will cover parcel sorting, freight handling, warehouse work, van driving, forklift operations and truck driving. Most roles will run through the festive period, with some delivery work potentially continuing into December.
The jobs are open to people aged 16 and over who meet the required safe working conditions.
“Every year, our seasonal team plays a huge role in keeping Australia connected. Last year alone, they helped us deliver almost 103 million parcels in the lead-up to Christmas,” Australia Post said.

Seasonal roles start from September
Truck driver positions are expected to begin in early September. Parcel processing, freight handling, van driving and forklift roles are expected to start in mid-October.
Australia Post said applicants may have to wait until the peak period before receiving their first shift.
"Last year we delivered a record 111 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas, and that wouldn't have been possible without the incredible people working hard across our network," Australia Post Executive General Manager, People and Culture, Sue Davies said.
"Whether you're behind the wheel, operating a forklift or helping sort parcels, every person plays a part in helping us deliver for customers and communities right across Australia," Davies said.
"Many of our team members first joined Australia Post during this period and have gone on to build rewarding long-term careers with us."
Most seasonal roles are expected to end after Christmas.
Roles and their pay
Seasonal parcel processing and mail officer roles pay from $35.83 an hour. Licensed roles can pay up to $40.12 an hour.
Mail sorters aged over 21 receive $35.83 an hour, while junior rates apply to younger workers. Van drivers and forklift drivers can also expect the same hourly rate.
Base rates for truck drivers with casual loading start from $42.26 an hour.
Workers can earn additional casual loading for overtime, evening and weekend shifts.
Jobs available across Australia
The seasonal positions are being offered across all states and territories.
New South Wales has more than 900 roles, while Victoria has more than 1,100. Queensland has more than 900 positions.
South Australia and Western Australia each have more than 300 roles. Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory each have more than 20 positions.
Applicants can also indicate if they would prefer to work at the same site or on the same shifts as a friend, although Australia Post said placements are not guaranteed.
