SYC has appointed Kia Logan as its Chief People Officer, strengthening its executive leadership team as the organisation continues to invest in a people-first culture and workforce capability.
According to a media report, Logan will lead the organisation's people strategy, supporting its mission to help Australians achieve sustainable independence and wellbeing.
With more than 24 years of experience spanning community services, local government, healthcare, construction and recruitment, Logan will oversee SYC's people agenda, including talent management, organisational culture, leadership development and workforce transformation, as the organisation continues to expand its community impact.
Extensive HR leadership
Logan joins SYC from the City of Salisbury, where she served as Divisional Head, People and Performance, leading the council's people and performance function.
Alongside her executive responsibilities, she continues to serve as a Non-Executive Director at Royal Life Saving Australia, contributing to the organisation's national strategic direction.
She previously held the role of Vice President at the Royal Life Saving Society South Australia, where she provided strategic governance and leadership.
Before moving into local government, Logan was Head of Human Resources at Mayne Pharma, leading the organisation's HR strategy and people agenda. Earlier, she served as Human Resources Manager at McConnell Dowell, overseeing key workforce and employee initiatives.
Driving workforce capability
A significant part of Logan's career was spent with the Weeks Group, where she worked for more than 11 years in a series of senior HR leadership roles.
These included National Human Resources Manager, Group Human Resources and Corporate Services Manager, and Human Resources and WHS Manager, where she led initiatives across organisational development, workforce capability and corporate services.
Her broader career also includes leadership positions with Weeks Building Group, Credo Group, Advantage Recruitment and Stellar Asia Pacific, giving her extensive expertise in strategic HR, organisational development, workforce planning, employee relations, leadership and business transformation.
Focus on strategic leadership
Logan is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the Australian Institute of Business.
She also holds AHRI Practising Certification from the Australian HR Institute, reflecting her continued focus on strengthening strategic human resources leadership and organisational capability.
