Myriota appoints Richard Leon as CFO to drive global growth and capital raise

Myriota has appointed Richard Leon as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), strengthening its executive leadership team as the Satellite IoT company prepares for its next phase of global expansion and an upcoming capital raise.

Leon brings decades of experience leading publicly listed technology companies through periods of rapid growth, strategic acquisitions and fundraising. His appointment comes as Myriota accelerates its ambitions to expand its global footprint and strengthen its position in the physical world intelligence market.

Most recently, Leon served as CFO of Altium Limited, having previously held the same role between 2008 and 2016. During his tenure, he played a central role in Altium's A$9.1 billion acquisition by Renesas Electronics and led a capital raise worth A$45 million.

Before returning to Altium, Leon was CFO at Infomedia Ltd from 2016 to 2021. There, he oversaw an A$85 million capital raise and helped deliver a fourfold increase in the company's share price.

Myriota said Leon's track record of guiding technology businesses through transformational growth will be critical as the company advances its strategy to become the leading platform for physical world intelligence. Its technology enables organisations to connect remote assets at scale and convert field data into operational insights.

"Richard is a world-class technology CFO with an exceptional track record for helping innovative companies scale globally," said Ben Cade, CEO of Myriota. "Beyond his impressive achievements, Richard is himself making the decision to join a business whose mission, global potential and relentless approach to growth align. We're delighted that he sees the opportunity ahead at Myriota as we build the leading platform for physical world intelligence."

Leon said Myriota's market opportunity and technology made it an attractive proposition at a defining point in its growth journey.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with technology companies at pivotal stages of growth. Myriota has all the ingredients of a category-defining business: differentiated technology, a growing global market and a talented team with a clear vision,” said Richard. “I’m excited to partner with Ben and the team to execute that vision, build on the company’s strong financial foundations and support the next stage of Myriota’s growth."

Building on commercial momentum

The leadership appointment follows a period of product innovation and commercial progress for Myriota. Earlier this year, the company launched HyperPulse, its hybrid satellite and cellular IoT network, alongside AssetHawk, an asset tracking platform designed to improve visibility of remote assets.

With new products entering the market and expansion plans underway, Myriota is now focused on accelerating global customer adoption, broadening its platform capabilities and delivering long-term shareholder value.
