Cornerstone OnDemand appoints Brenton Smith as VP for Asia Pacific and Japan

Cornerstone OnDemand has appointed Brenton Smith as Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), as the company looks to strengthen its regional leadership and expand its presence across key markets.

In his new role, Smith will lead the company’s growth strategy across Asia Pacific and Japan, with a focus on deepening customer and partner relationships while supporting organisations navigating workforce transformation and rapid technological change.

Smith joins Cornerstone after seven years at BMC Software, where he led the business across the APJ region. Based in both Australia and Singapore during his tenure, he worked closely with customers across ASEAN and broader regional markets to scale enterprise software operations.

He also brings significant experience in artificial intelligence adoption, having worked with organisations to integrate large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and agentic AI into enterprise environments.

“Brenton Smith brings to Cornerstone a strong customer-first mindset and deep understanding of the challenges organisations are facing today,” said Vincent Belliveau, Chief International Officer at Cornerstone. “Our customers are at the center of everything we do, and Brenton’s deep understanding of the APJ market will help us strengthen those relationships and better support organisations as they navigate change and drive workforce transformation.”

Commenting on his appointment, Smith said, “What really stands out to me about Cornerstone is the focus on keeping people at the center of everything. AI is there to support how employees work, learn, and grow, and that creates a real opportunity to help organisations develop their people through continuous learning in a way that’s practical and impactful.”

“I’m looking forward to working with customers across Asia Pacific and Japan to help them adopt and scale technology in a way that supports their teams and drives real business outcomes,” he added.
