ANZ has appointed Sandro Bucchianeri as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), bringing more than three decades of cyber security and technology leadership experience to the bank.
Bucchianeri will report to ANZ Group Chief Information Officer Donald Patra and is set to join the bank on 11 November 2026.
A veteran in cyber security leadership
Bucchianeri joins ANZ from National Australia Bank, where he most recently served as Group Chief Security Officer.
His career spans more than 30 years, including 15 years in CISO and Chief Security Officer roles.
Before NAB, he held senior security positions at Absa Group, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Investec and AT&T. His experience covers markets including Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, the US and the UK.
Leading ANZ's cyber security strategy
At ANZ, Bucchianeri will take charge of the bank's information and cyber security strategy.
The role will focus on identifying and managing evolving cyber threats, while strengthening the bank's security capabilities and overall cyber maturity.

Bucchianeri will succeed Shane Ripley, who will remain Acting Chief Information Security Officer until his arrival.
