Indeed has rolled out its ChatGPT-integrated job search app across Australia and more than 50 additional countries, bringing AI-driven career discovery to a wider global audience. The move builds on its earlier launch in the United States and deepens its collaboration with OpenAI.
The new experience allows job seekers to explore opportunities directly within ChatGPT, turning casual conversations into actionable job searches. Users can access listings from Indeed’s marketplace by simply prompting the chatbot or using the @Indeed command.
As more professionals turn to AI tools to explore career options, this integration aims to simplify the process. Job seekers can initiate personalised searches through the ChatGPT apps directory and, by linking their Indeed profiles, receive tailored recommendations based on their skills, preferences and work history.
Despite the added convenience, Indeed’s website and mobile app remain central to the hiring journey. Key steps such as submitting applications, scheduling interviews and communicating with employers still take place on Indeed’s core platforms, ensuring a seamless transition from discovery to hiring.
The app introduces several features designed to improve the job search experience. Users can describe roles in natural language, explore company insights including employee reviews, and receive recommendations aligned with their professional background. Once ready to apply, candidates are redirected to Indeed’s trusted platform to complete the process.
“Career inspiration often strikes in unexpected places”, said Sol Garger, VP of Product, Indeed. “Integrating Indeed’s vast hiring marketplace and advanced matching with ChatGPT helps job seekers to turn those moments into action, while giving employers new ways to connect with talent that moves their business forward.”
Indeed highlights that its proprietary AI matching technology remains a key differentiator. With more than 645 million job seeker profiles and over 140 million daily hiring signals analysed, the platform continues to refine how candidates are matched with relevant roles. This expansion signals a broader push by Indeed to embed AI deeper into its platform while enhancing how employers and candidates connect in an increasingly digital hiring landscape.
