Deloitte captures Adelaide market; launches 1st Australian Centre for Innovation and Technology

Deloitte Australia recently started its 1st Center for Innovation and Technology, creating around 500 new jobs in cyber security, financial audit services, analytics and automation segments across South Australia. The motive of this venture is to support clients and offer services concerning digital risk and accounting, cyber, data, and cloud technology capabilities.

The Centre for Innovation and Technology will impart skill enhancement and employment packages; network and bridge the gap between local universities, graduates and Department of Innovation and Skills. In order to aid businesses and clients with market leading advanced technologies and audit support, the centre plans on collaborating with local researchers and South Australian Universities. The initiative is set to deploy efficient large scale technology transformation projects to clients and businesses, with the vision to create an image of market leader in Adelaide.

Economic status of the region, presence of a skilled talent pool, market conditions, technology and innovation are among a few factors that led Deloitte to launch its first ever Centre of Innovation and Technology in Adelaide, South Australia, says Hendri Mentz, Managing Partner for Deloitte Australia at Adelaide. The company, by utilizing valuable and relevant resources in terms of human capital and technological advancements in the region, aims to deliver exceptional services to its clients and other businesses.

Commenting on the recent launch, Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall mentioned the company's intention to create more jobs and employ Australian workforce, with the launch of Innovation and Technology Centre. The company will focus on ramping up its business operations in sectors including defence, public sector, healthcare and space.

Adding to Marshall's views, Deloitte Australia Managing Partner, Consulting, Ellen Derrick said, “This important local initiative is in addition to our recent investment in growing our Adelaide Consulting practice where we are offering up to 60 new roles over the next 12 months".

Presently, Deloitte Australia caters to 300 employees and is working on increasing its workforce to 800 by the end of 2023. Out of the total listed job opening, 40 vacancies have been occupied.
