Greyhound Australia has announced the appointment of Natalie (Tilly) Loughborough as its new chief operating officer, effective from March 20, 2025. The appointment marks a strategic move for the national long-distance coach operator as it continues to enhance its operational excellence and service delivery.

Loughborough brings a wealth of experience in public transport, having previously served as executive director for Rail and Public Transport at the National Transport Research Organisation. In this role, she oversaw multiple transport modes and worked extensively on policy, research, and operational improvements. Her career also includes senior leadership positions at Metro Trains Melbourne, where she successfully managed Australia’s largest urban rail network, and Transdev Australasia, where she was responsible for bus and ferry operations across Queensland.

Entrada Travel Group CEO John Thorburn highlighted the significance of Loughborough’s appointment, emphasizing her expertise in managing complex transport operations.

“Tilly is an outstanding leader with an extensive background in transport operations across complex and highly regulated environments,” Thorburn said. “Her expertise in driving customer-focused solutions, alongside her passion for innovation and sustainability, makes her the ideal choice to lead Greyhound Australia’s operations into the future.”

As COO, Loughborough will focus on leveraging data-driven insights to improve service quality, enhance Greyhound’s environmental and community commitments, and strengthen the overall customer experience. With nearly two decades of leadership in the public transport sector, she is well-positioned to drive the next phase of growth and transformation at Greyhound Australia.

Loughborough expressed her enthusiasm for the role, acknowledging the dynamic challenges and opportunities within the transport industry.

“I’m excited to join Greyhound Australia at such a pivotal time for the transport sector as we navigate evolving customer expectations and sustainability opportunities,” she said. “I look forward to working with the team to deliver seamless, safe, and customer-centric travel experiences that support communities across Australia.”

With Loughborough at the helm of operations, Greyhound Australia aims to strengthen its position as the country’s leading long-distance coach network while continuing to prioritize sustainability and service excellence.
