CIPD appoints Baroness McGregor-Smith as new president

Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE was appointed the new president of the CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development thi week. McGregor-Smith has been recognised as a business leader, being amongst the few women and first Asian woman to lead an FTSE 250 company.  

She sits in the House of Lords and is chair of both Mind Gym plc and the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education. She is also president of the British Chamber of Commerce.

Nitin Paranjpe named Unilever's new chief transformation officer & chief people officer

London-based consumer goods company Unilever on Tuesday this week,  named Nitin Paranjpe, the current chief operating officer of Unilever, as the chief transformation officer (CTO) and chief people officer (CPO), reports said. In his new roles, Paranjpe will handle business transformation and head the human resources (HR) functions.

Frasers Property Singapore appoints new CEO

Frasers Property Limited this week, announced the appointment of Soon Su Lin as Frasers Property Singapore’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). 

In this position, which she will assume 1 April 2022, Soon will report directly to Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, Frasers Property’s Group CEO, and will be relocating back to Singapore. Soon will oversee the Singapore operations which comprises Frasers Property Retail – a retail-focused platform – as well as commercial and residential businesses.

SAP appoints its first Head of Sustainability for APJ

Earlier this week, SAP announced the appointment of Susanna Hasenoehrl as Senior Vice President and Head of Sustainability, Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). 

The role is a new one, with a dual responsibility: firstly to help SAP's customers and partners using the firm's sustainability solutions to achieve their strategic sustainability goals and meet regulatory requirements, and secondly to drive SAP's own sustainability outcomes and business across the APJ region.

Manulife Hong Kong announces senior appointments

Earlier this week, Manulife Hong Kong has appointed Wilton Kee as Chief Financial Officer and Danny Lee as Chief Product Officer to strengthen the company’s leadership capabilities and drive its strategic initiatives.

Kee, a qualified actuary, joined Manulife in 2013 as the Pricing Officer for Individual Financial Products in Hong Kong. Lee, as the new Chief Product Officer, now takes on responsibilities for leading product development, pricing, and distribution compensation functions for both Hong Kong and Macau.
