Her hard work, determination, leadership skills, and professionalism have played a key role in ensuring continuity and progress for the association.”
Lloyd expressed enthusiasm about his new role, emphasizing the significant opportunities ahead for Australia’s space industry. “It is a great privilege to be leading SIAA through the next phase of growth of the Australian space industry,” said Lloyd. “Australia has extraordinary competitive advantages in a host of space-related areas, including our unique geography, stable regulatory environment, and a highly-educated and innovative workforce and culture.”
He added, “I look forward to working with SIAA’s members, all sides of government, and the broader space community to drive targeted initiatives that will ensure the Australian space industry continues to grow and thrive.”
Lloyd’s appointment comes at a critical time for Australia’s space sector, which has been expanding rapidly in recent years. With increasing government and private sector investments, as well as growing international collaboration, SIAA plays a vital role in advocating for policies that support innovation and industry development. Lloyd’s extensive background in regulatory affairs and corporate strategy is expected to help shape policies and initiatives that will further strengthen Australia’s position in the global space industry.
As he prepares to step into the CEO role, industry stakeholders are optimistic that Lloyd’s leadership will help propel Australia’s space ambitions forward, fostering collaboration and driving impactful growth for the sector.
