Fujitsu promotes ANZ CEO to head APAC region

Fujitsu has announced the promotion of ANZ CEO Graeme Beardsell to Executive Vice President and CEO for the Asia Pacific region excluding Japan, effective since 1 April.  The appointment is part of yet another global restructuring - the fourth in the last decade, and the second time in five years that the IT services giant has overhauled its global management structure.

Beardsell's elevation comes less than two years after he took the helm at the Australia and New Zealand operations in November 2020. He joined Fujitsu from cloud services provider Akamai, where he was Vice President and Managing Director for operations in Asia Pacific and Japan. Prior to that, he held a string of regional leadership positions with Solace Systems, Experian, Salesforce, and IBM.

Hidenori Furuta, COO & CDPO, Head of International Regions of Fujitsu Limited, called Beardsell a "driving force for change" in the organisation, saying: “Since Graeme took the helm of the Australia and New Zealand business nearly 18 months ago, Fujitsu’s operations in Australia and New Zealand have continued to grow from strength to strength...We are thrilled to welcome Graeme to the Asia Pacific leadership team. I am sure his previous experience in Asia will bring benefits to his new role.”

The Asia Pacific CEO role is among four regional CEO positions under Fujitsu's new global management structure, which was announced in January this year. The other regions are Japan (CEO Hiroyuki Tsutsumi), Europe (CEO Paul Patterson), and the Americas (CEO not yet officially announced).
