DigitalX’s Ex-CEO and Director, Leigh Travers joins Binance Australia as new CEO

Binance Australia announced this week that former DigitalX CEO and Director, Leigh Travers has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the company. He will be leading and working with the Binance Australia team with a common passion of expediting the adoption of blockchain and digital assets in Australia. Travers aims to prioritise the growth of Binance Australia’s brand and improve its official relationships with regulators.

At DigitalX, he was involved in building products and growing networks for its expansion. Prior to that, he was the board member of Australia’s blockchain industry body, Blockchain Australia. Travers has extensive experience in forging and maintaining relationships in financial and technology markets through his experience at fintech and investment advisory companies like Euroz Securities Ltd. 

Travers said that he shares a common passion with Binance Australia. That of advocating the adoption of blockchain and the pathway for blockchain businesses. Being an efficient leader in the digital asset space, he stated that it is important to engage in conversations with policy makers and regulators. Agreement on a graduated, fit-for-purpose regulatory framework is essential to make Australia a global leader in innovation and job creations for the future economy.

On Traver’s appointment, Sam Teoh, Chief Operating Officer at Binance Australia, said that he is excited to work with him to facilitate their rapid growth and also hasten the wider adoption of blockchain businesses and cryptocurrency in Australia.
