Hipages Group names chief product officer and chief technology officer

Australia-based Hipages Group has announced the appointment of Jeremy Burton as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Burton confirmed his new role within the organisation in a social media post. “Over the past few years, I've worked with great people at Hipages Group, including Herry Wiputra, and I'm excited to continue that journey as I take on a new opportunity as Chief Technology Officer,” he wrote on Linkedin.

In his new role as CTO, Burton will take care of the engineering space and continue to evolve the company architecture, building on the great pre-existing engineering culture and ways of working in the team.

“I'm fortunate to work in a business that supports and values the role of technology so highly, and the appointments of myself and Herry to the new title of Chief Product Officer formalise a transition that has been some time in the making,” he added.

Hipages has also confirmed the appointment of Herry Wiputra as chief product officer. Earlier, he was the chief product and technology officer (CPTO) at Hipages.

“In the current landscape, having a heightened focus on products is as important as ever. Our transition from marketplace to a platform growth business is an important step for the Group over the next phase - so I'm not going anywhere - and I look forward to continuing my journey with Hipages in the role of Chief Product Officer,” Herry wrote on LinkedIn.

Hipages Group operates in the home improvement industry and specialises in home improvement advertising services for tradies. The home improvement industry is well established in Australia and is expected to grow at an average rate of 8.8% per annum over the next four years, as per September 2020 data.
