Schneider Electric appoints James Comer as VP, Human Resources

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, has appointed James Comer as the new Vice President, Human Resources (HR) for the Pacific zone.

Playing an integral role within the executive management team at Schneider Electric, Comer will lead a team of HR partners and generalists to deliver the business’ strategic vision for people management, the company said in a statement.

With over twenty years’ experience in talent and HR management, Comer will be responsible for leading all aspects of the HR function at Schneider Electric, including talent acquisition, employee engagement and diversity and inclusion.

“I’ve long-admired the work that Schneider Electric does in building the future of digital and sustainable energy. But no great company is made without great people. I’m excited to bring my extensive experience in the technology industry as well as skills in people analytics and strategic workforce planning to the team,” said Comer.

Prior to Schneider Electric, Comer led the HR team at Cisco Systems Australia & New Zealand. His previous experience also includes working with Accenture, specialising in Change Management and HR transformation for clients including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Coca-Cola Amatil.

“We’re thrilled to have James on board at Schneider Electric. While his deep expertise in human resources will be invaluable for our talent acquisition and retention strategy, his clear passion for people management was the perfect fit with our values of inclusivity and innovation. We’re looking forward to him taking Schneider Electric’s people-first culture from strength to strength,” added Pacific Zone President Gareth O’Reilly.
